Taylor Swift, one of the most well-known public personalities on the globe, has dealt with her fair share of stalkers and excessively zealous followers.
Her attendance at this year’s Super Bowl has become a major question as she and Travis Kelce’s connection has gained international attention; in fact, someone is tracking her private plane around the globe. The pop sensation is now threatening legal action, along with her crew.
See below for more information regarding the aircraft tracker and the possible lawsuit.
Is a College Student Being Sued by Taylor Swift?
Over the years, a University of Central Florida student has tracked the takeoffs and landings of famous people, exposing the carbon emissions produced by their aircraft.
His reports made use of data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which makes some flight data easily accessible to the general public.
Swift’s team sent the UCF junior a cease-and-desist letter last year, requesting that he stop following Swift’s jet activity.
The letter, which was obtained by The Washington Post, was addressed to the student’s parents by Swift’s attorney, Katie Wright Morrone.
also her team clearly knows that they have no legal basis of trying to ban publicly available information, which is why they chose to mention random quotes from cupcakes on social media instead of any of the alleged laws jack sweeney broke in their cease & desist letter 💀 https://t.co/c1ccZrMp97 pic.twitter.com/zDGbnBdWXB

In the letter, Morrone stated that if the recipient didn’t stop his “stalking and harassing behavior,” they would “have no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies.”
The letter also stated that Taylor and her family have suffered “direct and irreparable harm, as well as emotional and physical distress” as a result of the private jet tracker’s actions.
The letter also stated that the musician has been living in a “constant state of fear for her personal safety” as a result of his online behavior.
There is “no legitimate interest in or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harass, and exert dominance and control,” Morrone stated in the document. “While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our client.”
Swift’s representative stated that while they “cannot comment on any ongoing police investigation but can confirm the timing of stalkers suggests a connection. His posts tell you exactly when and where she would be.”
A formal lawsuit has not yet been filed, despite Swift’s team sending the student a legal letter.
Who Tracks Taylor Swift’s Private Jet?
Jack Sweeney is a student at UCF who studies programming and entrepreneurship. Several sources claim that Sweeney’s father is a technical operations controller for American Airlines.
The university junior revealed in a 2022 interview with Bloomberg Wealth that he was planning on starting his own business, Ground Control, which would monitor millionaires’ flight patterns.
In the past, Sweeney followed the flight patterns of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Donald Trump, and a number of other prominent figures.
