Everything We Know About Invincible Season 2: Potential Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More U Need to Know!

Invincible, an animated superhero series, premiered on March 25, 2021, with a weekly episode drop, and it followed Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), a seemingly ordinary high school student who actually happens to be the son of the world’s most powerful superhero, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons).

Mark’s voyage of self-discovery and severe destruction begins as he embarks on his new life as the titular superhero while juggling the demands of his everyday existence.

Invincible, adapted from the comic book series by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), is cartoony in a way that AMC’s hit zombie series isn’t. Yes, there is bloodshed. There is a lot of bloodsheds. Fans of Invincible have been itching for information about the show’s second season after the first was so well received.

Many story threads were left hanging at the end of Season 1; for example, Mark’s father does not hail from a friendly extraterrestrial race, and there was that big violent fight between Mark and Omni-Man that nearly destroyed the planet. However, what will that form take? Learn all about Season 2 of Invincible right here.

What’s the Deal With Invincible Season 2?

Amazon renewed Invincible for a second and third season on April 29, 2021, only days before the Season 1 finale. Kirkman had already told Collider, before the announcement, that he and his team had put the story beats in motion for Seasons 2, 3, and beyond, so it looks like they had done a lot of heavy development work in sketching out the series.

Invincible Season 2 Plot: What’s Going to Happen?

Instead of making wild guesses about where Season 2 might take the program, let’s focus on the plot threads that were planted in Season 1.

Mark and his father’s revelation that they aren’t superheroes but aliens from the Viltrumite Empire, which sends armies to conquer planets and terraform with their “utopian” technology and society, is the main plot point that will undoubtedly be developed in new episodes.

Mark, who is part Viltrumite, caused a major rift between him and Omni-Man when he discovered the truth about his father’s origin and mission, resulting in a brutal, tooth-breaking fight. Nolan’s love for his son, which Viltrumites saw as an abominable weakness, is what ultimately led him to leave Mark’s life and the world rather than crush Mark’s face.

The continuous upheaval on Mars, as we witnessed the parasitic Sequids running rampant, and Mark’s complicated romantic life, with or without Amber, are also likely to fuel the forthcoming episodes (Beetz).

More significantly, Invincible finds out that the Viltrumite Army plans to invade Earth soon to finish what his father probably couldn’t: a complete planetary takeover.

While the Guardians of the Globe heal from being decimated in battle, he reluctantly assumes his father’s job as Earth’s protector at Cecil’s request. It’s unknown whether Mark will be able to take on his father and his retinue of Viltrimites, knowing that Omni-Man nearly killed his kid before he zipped away from the planet.

There are, of course, 15 years’ worth of comics available to you if you want to read ahead and potentially ruin the plot.

Will There Be Any New Faces in Invincible’s Second Season?

It’s too soon to talk about new cast members, but we can talk about how much Kirkman adores his ensemble cast for The Walking Dead. Will any of Yeun’s other past co-stars be appearing with him in this film? “I’ve enjoyed working with every single cast member on The Walking Dead.

This cast is incredible “Kirkman stated in 2021. It’s hard to think of one actor I wouldn’t want to cast, such as Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, or Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The Three Viltrumite Villains Already Hinted at by Invincible for Season 2

The second season of Invincible has been delayed for unknown reasons. When compared to making a live-action show, the animation process can be significantly more time-consuming, thus it’s important to factor that into the production schedule for animated shows.

Season 2 of Invincible was being filmed at the time of the pandemic, which likely slowed production and delayed the time when actors could begin recording their dialogue. The only thing we know for sure is that the cast and crew are working very hard to make the show.

There have been no major reports of delays, which may indicate that Invincible season 2 is taking its time to deliver another unique plot that would help the show surpass its first season.

When Can We Expect to See Season 2 of Invincible?

The premiere date for Season 2 of Invincible has not been set, but showrunner Simon Racioppa has said that COVID constraints have made the production a slow struggle. “It will take some time to accomplish it well.

The pandemic has not yet ended. We’re hopefully on the road to recovery, but it’s slowed us down a bit in the meanwhile. I think you’ll be pleased with the results of everyone’s hard effort.

Yes, please! Everybody wants to see it, and we want to make it just as much. Right now, we’re in the thick of things. It’s not done yet, and I wish it were, “To promote the March 2022 release of The Boys: Diabolical, an animated shorts offshoot, Racioppa spoke.

Seeing as how voice acting usually happens before final animation is done, Amazon Prime published a video of the very pleasant Steven Yeun in the sound booth in the middle of April 2022, indicating that development on Invincible Season 2 is well underway.

J.K. Simmons said in March 2022 that there would be “several months” between the time of the first recordings and when the animation was finished.

“I will say that production on Season 2 of Invincible has begun in earnest and that more episodes will soon be available. What a lovely nebulous phrase!” If this is the case, we should expect the return of Invincible to Amazon Prime sometime in the first half of 2023.
