When will the second installment of Alita: Battle Angel be available for purchase or streaming? It took almost 16 years and many obstacles to produce the science fiction blockbuster Alita: Battle Angel on the big screen. Avatar director James Cameron, who had hoped to adapt the manga into a film since 2003, eventually saw his dream realized when the film was released in 2019.
The first film left the door open for a sequel, but poor box office results make it improbable. Even yet, why is there still no information on the Alita: Battle Angel 2 release date out there, despite the fact that there is an army of loyal fans anxious to see more of their favorite Hunter Warrior?
Making a movie isn’t a simple task, and it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s been a while since Alita: Battle Angel came out, though, so fans are probably wondering whether and when they’ll get to see a sequel. Even if Alita 2 hasn’t been given the go-ahead just yet, we’ve got you covered by keeping you updated on all we know.
Alita Battle Angel 2 Release Date: Why Is It Taking So Long to Get Renewed?
As we are all aware, 20th Century Fox no longer exists, and as a result, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is in charge of the distribution of films from the 20th century. Actor Christophe Waltz told Collider, “When I was contacted about the sequel to Alita: Battle Angel, I said,
“made by Fox Filmed Entertainment, and Fox is no longer in business.” This time, Disney is in charge. The man finally opened his mouth. It’s possible that Alita 2 doesn’t quite suit the Disneyfication of 20th-century studios, but I have no idea if that’s the case. Meanwhile, I haven’t received any word.
Alita Battle Angel 2 Plot
Alita’s journey to Zalem to face the wicked mastermind Nova is an obvious starting point for any plotline in Alita 2. Though he has minions to do his bidding, Alita has her sights set on Nova, the ultimate bad guy who rules from above and watches over Iron City.
The last time we saw the eponymous cyborg heroine, she was raising her blade in preparation to do battle with Nova in Zalem, the fabled city in the sky. There was no way the first Alita film could have finished on such a shocking note without setting up a sequel.
Alita, not surprisingly, is fuming. Alita witnessed the death of Hugo, the young man she had fallen in love with, in the film’s climax. Hugo was killed by a serrated defense ring. Hugo was killed by Nova as he attempted to enter Zalem, the promised country.
That’s after Hugo’s head was taken from Alita and she turned him into a cyborg, too. We all know how complicated relationships can be.

It is unclear whether Alita would just seek vengeance for Hugo’s death or if she will also seek for his broken body. After all, she already repaired him once; naturally, she would like to do so again if she can. Hugo could be brought back to life as a robotic hybrid with the help of Ido and Dr. Chiren, who have taken him in as if they were their own children.
Taking everything into account, we might be in for a very long wait until we can go back to Iron City. We wouldn’t dare predict a release date for Alita 2 as the film hasn’t even been announced, but we do know that it would take at least three years to develop and make once it does get the green light.
I assume you have enough things to occupy your time till the year 2026.

The Possible Release Schedule for Alita: Battle Angel 2: When Might We See Alita: Battle Angel 2?

A Trailer for Alita: Battle Angel 2: is There Any Footage Out There?
Given that a sequel has not even been approved, you already know the answer to this question: it will be a very long time before we see any Alita Battle Angel 2 footage.
If you’re curious about whether or not there’s anything you can do to urge Disney to start working on a sequel, According to Landau provides a clue:
