Tokyo Ghoul Season 5: How Many Seasons Are There? Season 4’s Impact on Viewers

Japanese author and illustrator Sui Ishida created the dark fantasy manga series titled Tokyo Ghoul. The manga was also published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump from September 2011 to September 2014, and it was also collected in fourteen volumes.

Pierrot Studios made a 12-episode TV anime series based on the book. They released a total of four seasons of the anime series from 2014 to 2018.

The Storyline for Season 5 of “Tokyo Ghoul”

The plot of a possible fifth season of Tokyo Ghoul is unknown because Ishida would have to adopt a new story, but there isn’t one.

Except for Tokyo Ghoul A, which is a completely different story, the manga was adapted over four seasons and is now done. This means that there are no more manga stories to adapt.

We could see a manga-accurate remake of season two, which is unlikely since Ishida wrote the story of Tokyo Ghoul A or more of a side story, but that would probably come out as an OVA like [JACK] and [PINTO].

As for the stuff that has already come out, the story mostly follows the manga. In the first season, the main character is a college student named Ken Kaneki. He almost dies when his date, Rize Kamishiro, turns out to be a ghoul.

The Main People in Tokyo Ghoul

In this anime, many characters have their own roles to play, but here are the main ones:

Ken Kaneki ,Tooru Mutsuki and Kishou Arima

Ken Kaneki

Ken is the main character of the show. He was born a human and had hoped to live a peaceful life. But Ken’s life is turned upside down when he goes on a date with a ghoul, Rize Kamishiro, without knowing it and barely makes it out alive.

Ken is saved by a mysterious doctor, but he soon finds out that he was used in an experiment with humans and ghouls. As a result, Ken becomes half-human and half-ghoul.

Tooru Mutsuki

Tooru is an artificial ghoul who started out as a Rank 3 ghoul investigator. He is a member of the CCG’s elite Quinx Squad, but he doesn’t seem as excited to hunt down ghouls as his other teammates do.

In fact, Tooru’s personality is very different from what you’d expect from a high-ranking CCG investigator. He’s kind and gentle, which is not what you’d expect. Later in the show, Tooru’s life is turned upside down when he finds out who he really is.

Kishou Arima

Kishou is a Special Class Ghoul investigator for the CCG. He has never lost a battle and is often called “the Reaper.”

Even though we won’t get into the details of Kishou’s role in the show’s plot, you can be sure that he plays a big role, especially in Seasons 3 and 4.

Season 4’s Impact on Viewers Was Discussed in Relation to Tokyo Ghoul Season 5

To be honest, the series seemed interesting when it first started. But as soon as it was released, the controversy surrounding it erupted.

A lot of people have negative things to say about Tokyo Ghoul Season 4. There were unfavorable reviews, and the franchise had never done this before. However, the supporters were content with whatever was given to them.

No effect was felt on the audience. However, because the producers were pressed for time to complete the presentation, certain aspects appeared shaky.

The main reason for the show’s failure was the fact that it attempted to cover all of the nearly 179 remaining chapters of the manga series in just 24 episodes.

Since it would have made more sense, many fans had anticipated reading these chapters in season 5. The conclusion, however, was very well received because it met everyone’s emotional needs.

The ultimate happy ending that the fans desired was finally seen when Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima parted ways. The fans thus received what they had hoped for.

The first season debuted in July 2014, and the second in 2015. Then, Tokyo Ghoul: Re, which has 24 episodes over two seasons, was published in 2018. The Tokyo Ghoul franchise has four seasons altogether.

The publishing date for the fifth installment is still unclear, in the end! We’ll have to wait to see when the production company regains its zeal and releases Season 5.
