Sweet Magnolias Season 3 Release Date: Exactly What Will Happen in Season 3?
The third season of Sweet Magnolias is now up and running on Netflix. And it’s just what we need to hear after being left on a cliffhanger.
After the renewal was announced, executive producer Dan Paulson said in a statement, “We’re excited to start our third season for Netflix, and we’re looking forward to going back to Serenity.”
The cast also helped spread the word on social media. JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley all shared the news on Instagram.
If you’re up to date on Sweet Magnolias, you know that Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen all have big decisions to make, and it seems like whatever they do will affect the whole town of Serenity.
Thank God they always had margaritas to help them talk about their problems.
Life has definitely gotten harder for the three of them, who are doing their best to figure out life and love in their small town with white picket fences.
But after a big cliffhanger that could affect everyone in a big way, let’s have a drink and talk about what to expect in the next season.
Season 3 Release Date
The third season hasn’t been given an official release date yet, but it’s been said that production should end in October 2022, which could mean a release date in 2023as per hollywoodlife.com/ .
Due to the COVID pandemic, the first season came out in May 2020 and the second in February 2022. It would make sense for the new season to not come out on Netflix until at least next spring.

How Can I Watch Sweet Magnolias Online?
The first and second seasons of the heartwarming drama can only be seen on Netflix. If you’re a first-time user, sign up for a plan (starting at $9.99 a month) now so you’re ready when the new season comes out.
But if you’ve already watched all 20 episodes, you might want to pick up the Sweet Magnolias book series to keep you busy until the next season.
What Will Happen in Season 3?
JoAnna Garcia Swisher thinks that the next season will pick up right where the second season left off. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said that it’s likely to start in the spring “close to where we left off, because I don’t think you can come back months later and ask, “What happened to Helen?” and “Is Justin in jail?” Why not go big or stay small?”
If she’s right, and we think she is, then season 3 will answer all the big questions we have after the cliffhanger ending of season 2.
Our first item: Will Helen say yes to Ryan’s offer or keep going after Erik? Fans are already picking sides, but Heather Headley told TVLine that she thinks it could “go either way,” especially since she has worked with both men in the past.
But don’t think you’ll hear back right away: Sheryl Anderson, the showrunner and executive producer, told Entertainment Weekly, “I know what she’s going to say, but I wouldn’t guess that timeline.”
The other hard-to-understand couple on Serenity is Cal and Maddie. During the second season, we learned more about Cal’s (well, not quite) past anger problems and saw how they caused Maddie to pull away from him.
In the last episode of the season, Cal got arrested after getting into a fight at Sullivan’s. This was the moment when everything really came to a head.
Sheryl said in an interview with Glamour that the event made her think about two important questions: “How do you win someone’s trust? And if you break trust, is it possible to get it back?” If everything goes as planned, the next season will be a “chance to get into that.”
Don’t forget about Dana Sue, either. With Ronnie back on her side, things were looking up for her, but then Miss Frances died and left her a lot of money.
This seemed like good news until people started going after the Sullivans for reasons we didn’t understand. They even cut the tires off of Dana Sue’s van. Who would do something like that? We don’t know yet, but it looks like we will soon.
Still, that’s not even half of it: So many other stories are just getting started, like Issac’s recent discovery about his birth parents and Ty’s future without baseball (which, maybe just maybe, includes Annie).
