We are definitely more than ready for Shadow and Bone Season 2. The first season has been on Netflix for more than a year now. In fact, we’ve known for more than a year that there would be a second season.
We’ve double-checked the list of shows coming to Netflix in August, and this one isn’t on it. That doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Still, there hasn’t been any news about the show. Netflix would have made a lot of noise if Shadow and Bone had a new season this month.
Plot Speculation for Shadow and Bone Season 2
Even though Netflix hasn’t given us an official plot summary yet, we have a pretty good idea of what will happen in Shadow and Bone season 2.
In the last season, we saw Alina’s collarbone absorb some magical stag antlers, The Darkling grow the Shadow Fold, and Alina and Mal escape Kirigan’s eternal grasp – at least for now.
In the first season, Kaz, Ineji, and Jesper also went back to Ketterdam. Nina follows them because she wants to try to get Matthias, who is now her lover, out of jail. Even though we don’t know much about the second season of Shadow and Bone yet, we can get a good idea of what it might be like by looking at the books Siege and Storm and Six of Crows.
The first season of Shadow and Bone mostly told the story of the first book, Shadow and Bone. So, we can guess that the second season of Shadow and Bone will follow the plot of Storm and Siege, the second book in Leigh Bardugo’s trilogy.
In the book Storm and Siege, Alina and Mal are trying to start a new life in Novyi Zem. Alina is hiding the fact that she is the Sun Summoner.
But (surprise!) the Darkling is determined to find the two. His power has grown because the Shadow Fold is now bigger and stronger, so he quickly finds and captures the two.
Since season one ended with the Darkling still alive and Mal and Alina on the run, Storm and Siege’s story seem to pick up where season one left off. But, like most adaptations, the TV show can always change from the book it was based on.

When Will Season 2 of Shadow and Bone Be on Netflix?
At this point, we don’t have anything new to say. There is no date for it to come out. Even a rough idea of when the show will come back hasn’t been given by Netflix.
But we do know that the filming is done. Back in June, the cast used Twitter to share that news. This means that the series is now in the long process of post-production. This process will take at least six months, but for a show like this, it will probably take closer to eight months.
That does mean that Shadow and Bone Season 2 probably won’t come out in 2022. We were kind of ready for how disappointing it would be that filming didn’t start until January. But early 2023 is still a real possibility.
When will the second season of Shadow and Bone be released?
According to popbuzz.com/ The release date for Shadow and Bone season, 2 is currently unknown. Seasons of Netflix’s TV shows are frequently released in yearly cycles. We predict that Shadow and Bone season 2 will most likely air in the second half of 2022 given that filming only began in January 2021.
