Reacher Season 2 Release Date: Is Officially Announced by Amazon Prime Video?

After a successful first season, Reacher season 2 will bring back Lee Child’s Jack Reacher to Amazon Prime Video.

The second season will be based on Child’s novel Bad Luck and Trouble. Alan Ritchson will play the title character, a former US army military pro who was played by Tom Cruise in the first season.

At this point, it’s hard to say if any other Reacher cast members will come back. If the show is like the books, in which Reacher goes from town to town and meets new people who need a killing machine, we probably won’t see Roscoe or Finlay again for a while.

Season 2 has already started filming, so it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait too long to find out. A Tweet from Prime Video shows Ritchson holding a clapperboard and looking very Reacher-like.

Reacher Season 2 Release Date Speculation

Season 2 of Reacher is currently being made, and filming for it started on September 23. That means the show is likely to come back sometime in 2023 as per radiotimes.com/, probably in the second half of the year.

Reacher Season 2’s Storyline

We don’t know much about the new show yet, but thanks to a recent update from Alan Ritchson, we do know that the second season will be based on the 11th book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble.

Based on the official logline for Reacher season 2, it sounds like the second season will be very true to the book. It says, “When Reacher’s old military unit members start turning up dead, he only wants one thing: revenge.”

In the book Bad Luck and Trouble, Jack Reacher finds a deposit that was made to his account without his knowledge.

Because he is obsessed with math and has great analytical skills, he realizes that the amount is a signal for help from one of Reacher’s fellow ex-army investigators, Frances Neagley.

Frances tries to get in touch with him because Reacher’s old soldiers are being brutally hunted down by someone. He and Frances work together to try to find the other survivors and stop the killers.

Who Will Be in Season 2 of Reacher?

Reacher wouldn’t be Reacher without Jack Reacher, so Alan Ritchson will definitely be back as the big guy, even though he’s about to become a huge movie star in the next Fast & Furious movie.

But the Reacher TV show was always meant to stay true to Reacher’s wandering ways from the books, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin), Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald), or other people from Margrave, Georgia, again. Fitzgerald pretty much confirmed this when she told Digital Spy that she always knew Roscoe would only be in Season 1.

But Deadline says that Season 2 will bring back Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), who was a member of Reacher’s military police team in Season 1. Frances shows up again and again in the Reacher books, so it makes sense that she will also show up again and again in the show.

Shaun Sipos, who was last seen on Prime Video’s Outer Range as Luke Tillerson, will play David O’Donnell, Reacher’s friend from the 110th Army unit of special investigators. This was announced on September 14 by Deadline. He and Ritchson will be the two main characters of the season.

On Sept. 21, Deadline announced that Serinda Swan (Marvel’s Inhumans), Ferdinand Kingsley (Sandman), and Rory Cochrane had joined the cast (CSI: Miami).

Swan will play special agent Karla Dixon, Kingsley will play A.M., a mercenary who works undercover, and Cochrane will play Shane Langston, the head of security for a private defense contractor.

Review of Season 1 of Reacher

The first season of Reacher was praised by critics a lot. It looks like people will like Reacher Season 2 just as much as the first season.

At the end of the first season of the TV show Reacher, we saw that when the warehouse caught fire, Reacher threw flammable chemicals at KJ and kicked him into the flames.

Later, a flashback shows that Reacher’s mother died after a long illness and gave him the Croix de Guerre from his French grandfather.

After that, Roscoe tells Reacher that she has a plan to rebuild Margrave. Reacher tells her that she should run for mayor, and Finlay decides to move back to Boston and start over.

On the other hand, Reacher walks out of Margrave and sticks out his thumb for a ride after burying the medal and the place where Joe died. Let’s wait and see what comes next.
