The American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy movie Frozen III was created by Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2024.
The 63rd Disney animated picture was produced by Paul Briggs, directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, with a screenplay written by Lee. The narrative was written by Marc E. Smith and Allison Schroeder, and the two of them together.
It is the third entry in the Frozen franchise and a follow-up to the 2019 movie Frozen II. Paul Dano, Olivia Wilde, Casey Affleck, and Gregory Diaz IV join the reprised voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Ciarán Hinds, Sterling K. Brown, and Martha Plimpton.
The Kingdom of Arendelle and the Enchanted Forest are at last at peace one year after the late King Runeard’s dam was destroyed in the second movie, and the Northuldra people are finally able to view the sun during the daytime in the forest.
Elsa recently abdicated the throne, and Anna is now queen with Kristoff serving as her king. As Elsa starts to demonstrate her magic to the Northuldra people, the magic itself starts to surge, turning the entire forest into ice and encasing her, Anna, Olaf, Mattias, and Yelena inside a massive ice block.
After that, the group awakens in modern-day Chicago. Anna, Elsa, and their family decide that in order to stay out of trouble, they will join forces with a well-known Chicago model named Samantha and disguise themselves in order to blend in and fit in with the crowd of people.
However, one person, specifically the ruthless and mean-spirited sheriff Lance Mitchells of the Police Department, has suspicions and wants to find out where Elsa’s magical abilities came from.
Back in Arendelle, things are starting to get very busy. In Elsa’s absence, Kristoff is attempting to administer the throne as the future king, but he is having difficulty because of his improbable lack of familiarity with royal affairs.
Who Will Return From Frozen 3’s Cast?
Without Kristen Bell as Anna and Idina Menzel as Elsa, a Frozen movie wouldn’t exist. Both actors have expressed a desire to reprise their roles in the event that a third movie is announced. Josh Gad would certainly return as Olaf, and Jonathan Groff would play Kristoff (and Sven).
We anticipate that everyone would be open to returning, and Gad has already played Olaf again for the online series At Home with Olaf since the sequel’s publication.

Sterling K. Brown as Mattias, Jason Ritter as Ryder, Rachel Matthews as Ryder’s sister Honeymaren, and Ciarán Hinds as Pabbie, king of the Rock Trolls, are all likely to make further appearances.
Following flashbacks in Frozen II, we might also get to see more of Iduna and Agnarr, the parents of Anna and Elsa, played by Evan Rachel Wood and Alfred Molina.

Potential Frozen 3 Release Date: When Might Frozen 3 Arrive?
Since there were six years between the release of Frozen and Frozen II, even if Frozen 3 were to happen, fans could have to wait until 2025 to see Anna and Elsa again.
It’s natural that there might be such a gap given the fantastic making-of-Frozen II documentary series Into the Unknown (streaming on Disney+). This series explores the incredible level of detail that goes into developing an animation.
According to https://www.thedigitalfix.com/The wait for Frozen 3 seems to be going on for a while as of this writing. Therefore, let’s hope Disney starts discussing it soon so that we may have a clearer notion of when to expect it.
