The Legend of Vox Machina is an American adult animated fantasy television series created by Critical Role Productions, Titmouse, Inc., and Amazon Studios that debuted on Amazon Prime Video on January 28, 2022.

It’s based on the first campaign of the Dungeons & Dragons web series Critical Role.

Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham reprise their roles from the first campaign in the series.

Vox Machina Season 2 Release Date: When is It Coming Out?

Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina will premiere on Amazon Prime on January 20, 2023, as of this writing.

This season, like the first, will be released weekly in three-episode increments, for a total of twelve episodes. The final three episodes will be released on February 10, 2023.

Also, a third season has already been greenlit by Amazon, implying that there will be plenty more Vox Machina content on the way.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2: the Plot

If you’ve ever played Dungeons & Dragons, you’ll know that the first episode of season one begins in the same way that many campaigns do: with a group of friends, mercenaries, or strangers gathering in some sort of tavern and accepting a job for money.

It gives a campaign a starting point, a reason for the characters (who are usually complete strangers) to meet, and a goal they must achieve together against all odds.

The group in Vox Machina is tasked with tracking down and destroying whatever monster has been terrorizing the city.

The Tal’Dorei council sends them on their way with little to no information. When the group realizes that the monster is a large blue dragon, they band together and figure out how to defeat it. This earns them the title of heroes, and the council rewards the group with their own place to stay.

Following this character introduction story arc, we then follow the group to the hometown of one of their members in order to defeat the evil couple ruling it and restore the city to its former glory.

Let’s just say there are a lot of arguments within the group, a lot of fighting enemies, and a lot of death. Just before the final episode fades to black, we see four dragons in the distance approaching the city and our group of heroes. The second season will begin here. The official Amazon tagline is as follows.

The Chroma Conclave is a group of dragons on a mission to destroy the entire world of Exandria. It appears that it is up to the mismatched but familial band of mercenaries-turned-heroes to defeat the dragons and save the world.
