Review For “The Notebook”

In the film The Notebook, Gena Rowlands and James Garner play two couples named Allie Nelson and Noah Calhoun. Throughout their lives, both couples have struggled with agony, narcotics, regret, and despair.

Every day, they can read to Allie from a journal to share their tales of how they met, fell in love, and overcame challenges to find happiness. The play is a nostalgic fantasy, but it also conveys the urgency of a budding romance and the long-term effects that Alzheimer’s will have on the characters’ lives.

The performances are appropriate for the topic; they respect the initial passion and sentiment without overdoing it. Towards the conclusion, young Noah informs Allie that he is engaged to another guy and that he doesn’t see how it will work.

A rich, intelligent, and lyrical little child lives with the family at the family’s estate in North Carolina, and his parents are Gena Rowlands and John Cassavetes. Noah falls in love with her the moment he first meets her, and his father Sam Shepard is calm and encouraging.

Joan Allen, Allie’s mother, tells her that she fell in love with a local working man 25 years ago. He appears to have taken a beating from life. The Nicholas Sparks novel that served as the inspiration for the film’s plot was so endearing and upbeat that Mandy Moore agreed to star in it. One of the best actors of his time, Ryan Gosling typically appears in more gritty roles.

James Garner and Gena Rowlands are two powerful actors who make the challenge seem simple. Garner is not recognized for having characters who are as tense and frenetic as Rowlands does.

With his photographs of a mansion, Robert Fraisse creates rich, saturated textures that range from sea birds at dusk to a crumbling mansion. If he succeeds, Allie will move in with him and young Noah is determined to renovate the old mansion for her. Before his passing, he reportedly recognized her, according to his daughter Patti Davis.
