The Dark Knight did draw inspiration from a number of unique Batman stories in the pages of DC Comics, despite without adapting any one particular narrative to the big screen.
Director Christopher Nolan and his brother, co-writer Jonathan Nolan, specifically referred back to The Joker’s very first appearance in 1940’s Batman #1 in search of the greatest way to introduce the character when conducting research and creating the movie.
The famous tales The Long Halloween, The Dark Knight Returns, and The Killing Joke are also mentioned by co-writer David S. Goyer, who also contributes to DC Comics. Elements from each of these tales are incorporated into the movie.

Review for “The Dark Knight Rises”
In the blockbuster film The Dark Knight Rises, Gotham is in an apocalyptic future plagued by urban terrorism and class conflict. After unwillingly leaving Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) confronts a heartless antagonist who is just as strong as he is.
The movie starts out slowly with an unclear plot and too many new characters, but it eventually builds to an exciting conclusion. With a villain dubbed Bane whose Hannibal Lecter-esque face-muzzle robs him of personality, it is all serious drama. Bane intends to use street battles to replace the local police force, but his alternate strategy—nuclearly destroying the city—works.
In two additional thrilling set pieces, Bane blows up a football stadium and destroys the Stock Market. As Bane and Batman square off in a street battle, it results in an uninteresting fistfight with the city’s bridges blowing up, landing a right hook on Batman’s jaw.
The 2013 Batman film, which includes a range of characters and their antics, is set in Wayne Manor. A brave young police officer, two prospective love interests, Alfred the Butler, Commissioner Gordon, and Lucius Fox are among them. Together with Batman, the film also stars Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), a freelance thief named Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard), and (Benjamin Wayne).
The deep stone well where Bruce Wayne is held captive by Bane is revealed in the movie, which is situated in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. Although it is a dark and sombre movie, it challenges the limits of what a superhero movie can handle. Without using 3D, Nolan manages to mix social unrest, mass destruction, and a Batcycle with exercise-ball tyres, giving it a worthy conclusion.
