When we enter the winter months, most people are thinking about watching great films, whether they are holiday-themed or not. Stepmom, a 1998 movie starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon, is one such masterpiece.
The two formidable actresses co-star in a film about a lady who must come to terms with her terminal cancer diagnosis while preparing her children for life without her.
As Jackie and Isabel, played by Sarandon and Roberts, respectively, the two ladies trade jabs as they argue about their shared relationship with Luke Harrison (Ed Harris), Jackie’s ex-husband and Isabel’s fiancé.
Due to Jackie’s deteriorating health and their shared affection for Jackie and Luke’s children, Anna (Jena Malone) and Ben (Liam Aiken), an odd friendship between them develops as the film goes on.
In the heartfelt movie Stepmom, the themes of accepting what cannot be changed, learning to move on with life despite the short amount of time you may have left, adjusting to shifting family dynamics, and developing bonds that will sustain you and your family through the most trying times are all addressed.
This timeless work welcomes life and everything it has to offer. Where can I view the movie online?

Review For “Stepmom”
Neve Campbell and Jennifer Jason Leigh are the stars of “Terms of Endearment.” (You know it’s steeped in sex with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Neve Campbell; in blood with Jamie Lee Curtis and Drew Barrymore.) If Roberts is the stepmom, you know she won’t have fangs and talons; their current image veers between the feminist heroine and sainthood. But hiding the obvious is part of the charm of a movie like this.
Act 1 shows the emotional barriers gradually coming down as Jackie learns to let go and Isabel gains the kids’ trust. Act 3, which includes separate farewells for the mother and each child, is the Kleenex act. (Spoiler alert: Yes, the Sarandon character doesn’t have much time left to live, much like Debra Winger’s character in “Terms of Endearment” and Meryl Streep’s character in “One True Thing” did.
The Sarandon character is truly the focus of the film. Roberts and Sarandon are incredibly endearing individuals. Before appearing for a family portrait, Harris is missing for the majority of the second half. Although “Stepmom” has some tact, it doesn’t have a gun to our heads.
