Is Coda Available on Netflix? Are All the Coda Actors Deaf?

The 2021 Sundance Film Festival is where CODA had its world premiere on January 28. Apple paid a festival record $25 million for the rights to distribute the movie there.

On August 13, 2021, the movie was made available for viewing both in theatres and online on Apple TV+. Although the opinions of critics were overwhelmingly favorable, those of deaf viewers were divided. By the American Film Institute, it was ranked among the top 10 movies of 2021.

CODA was nominated for three awards at the 94th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Kotsur, and Best Adapted Screenplay. It went on to win all three of those awards, making history by becoming the first movie to win Best Picture that was also released through a streaming service and had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sian Heder is the author and director of the comedy-drama coming-of-age movie CODA from 2021. It’s an English-language remake of the 2014 French-Belgian movie La Famille Bรฉlier, which starred Emilia Jones as Ruby Rossi, the film’s CODA and the only hearing person in her family.
