Hocus Pocus 2 Release Date: Is Hocus Pocus 2 Only on Disney Plus?
The iconic Halloween movie from the 1990s, Hocus Pocus 2, will finally receive the follow-up it deserves. Recently, the teaser trailer and some additional information on what will be in the film when it is released in September were both released.
The renowned Sanderson sisters will once again be portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy in Hocus Pocus 2, which was first announced in May 2021. The fabulously wicked sisters are back in this Disney Plus exclusive sequel to the first movie, 29 years after Max brought them back to life in the 1993 original.
They’re ready to wreak havoc on Salem, Massachusetts, once more on All Hallow’s Eve, and it’s up to a new bunch of youths to attempt to stop their evil deeds!
Hocus Pocus 2 Storyline
In Hocus Pocus 2, the story takes place in modern-day Salem, 29 years after Max accidentally brought the Sanderson sisters back to life by lighting the Black Flame Candle. They want to get back at Max for having them killed.
Becca, Cassie, and Izzy, three high school students, are in charge of stopping the witches before midnight on Halloween. This is because the witches are back and are planning to do more damage to the town.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Fletcher said that the opening sequence will tell us more about where the Sanderson family came from in 1600s New England.
“At the beginning of the movie, we learn more about the witches and Billy. We get a little kiss of Billy, the world they lived in, and what happened to the witches if you’ll excuse the pun.
In the first one, I always forgot to do that. “Like, why are the witches the way they are?” she asked. She then hinted at “some wonderful surprises in the witches’ mythology” and confirmed that their origin story is linked to that of the new trio of teens.
The Cast of Hocus Pocus 2
The confirmation of Hocus Pocus 2 thrilled fans, but the obvious issue that followed was whether the Sanderson Sisters would be played by the original cast members or by new actors.
Yes, all three actors—Bette Midler as Winifred Sanderson, Sarah Parker as Sarah Sanderson, and Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson—are returning.
