Sir Evelyn Robert Adrian de Rothschild FKC (29 August 1931 – 7 November 2022) was a British financier and member of the Rothschild family.

Sir Evelyn was named after his uncle, Evelyn Achille De Rothschild, who fought in World War I and was killed in action, by his father (Anthony Gustav de Rothschild) and mother (Yvonne Cahen d’Anvers). During WWII, Sir Evelyn spent the majority of his childhood in America.
He went to Harrow School and Trinity College at Cambridge University for his education. He dropped out of college before receiving his diploma.
Finance Career
Sir Evelyn De Rothschild has held a variety of business positions. He served as director chairman of The Economist, United Race Courses, British Merchant Banking, and Securities House Association, and the British Merchant Banking and Securities House Association.
He also served as a director of De Beers Consolidated Mines and IBM United Kingdom Holdings Limited, as well as the Deputy Chairman of Milton Keynes Development Corporation.
Sir Evelyn De Rothschild was also the chairman of Lord Beaverbrook’s newspaper group and Lord Black’s Daily Telegraph. Through the Eranda Foundation, he has promoted the arts and made significant contributions to medical research and educational improvement.
He founded and served as chairman of The European Association for Banking and Financial History in Frankfort, Germany, and he was also a governor of The London School of Economics and Political Science.
Sir Evelyn De Rothschild has held a number of positions in Economics, the Arts, Medical Research, and Political Science, as well as being a well-known charitable supporter. He was a trustee of the Shakespeare Globe Trust, a member of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’s Council, and the Chairman of the Princess Royal Trust for Career.

Personal Life
He has had three marriages. Jeanette Bishop, Sir Stanley Hooker’s niece, was his first wife. Her birth year was 1940, and she died in 1981. Victoria Lou Schott was his second wife. They tied the knot in 1949 and divorced in 2000. Jessica (born 1974), Anthony James (born 1977), and David Mayer are their three children (born 1978).
In the year 2000, he married Lynn Forester, an American lawyer, and entrepreneur. She is the managing director of FirstMark Communications Europe in Luxembourg. Sir Evelyn has two stepchildren from his marriage to Lynn Forrester, Benjamin Forester Stein (born 1985) and John Forester Stein (born 1988).
In 1989, HM Queen Elizabeth II knighted him. As soon as his marriage was announced, the couple received a special invitation to spend their honeymoon at the White House, which they accepted for one night only.
