There are a couple of new Amazon Original Movies coming to Prime Video this month. The first is Don’t Make Me Go, which comes out at the end of this week, but what time does it come out?

If you’re in the mood for a sad story, Prime Video has you covered. Don’t Make Me Go is out on Friday, July 15. John Cho plays a single dad who is dying of cancer.

When he gets his diagnosis, he realizes that he needs to do something to help his daughter with life after he dies. The best thing he can think of is to set up some sort of relationship between her and her mother.

In Don’t Make Me Go, Max (John Cho), a single father, has raised his daughter Wally (Mia Isaac) on his own for many years after Wally’s mother left them.

Now that she’s a teenager, he and Wally don’t always agree, but their friendship can’t be broken. Max decides to give Wally all the love and support he would have given him over the years if he didn’t have a disease that would kill him.

And the first thing is a road trip from California to New Orleans for his 20th college reunion. Wally can’t think of anything worse than spending the summer in a car with her annoying dad, but Max convinces her with the promise of long-awaited driving lessons. Wally, on the other hand, has no idea that Max is planning to bring her and her mother back together.

In 2012, Vera Herbert’s script was on the Black List, which is a list of the best-unmade screenplays in Hollywood. Luckily, Amazon Studios agreed to make a movie out of it.

They hired After Everything director Hannah Marks to direct, and they kept Herbert on as a writer and executive producer.

The list of producers also includes Donald De Line (The Italian Job), Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine), and Leah Holzer (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood).

Jaron Presant was in charge of the camera work (Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi). Even though the story takes place on a road trip across the US, filming began in New Zealand in May 2021.
