Dexter: New Blood is an American crime drama mystery miniseries developed for Showtime as a continuation of the series Dexter, created by original series showrunner Clyde Phillips and directed by Marcos Siega.
Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter reprise their roles as Dexter and Debra Morgan, respectively, alongside new cast members Jack Alcott, Julia Jones, Johnny Sequoyah, Alano Miller, and Clancy Brown.
The plot picks up ten years after the events of the original series finale, “Remember the Monsters?” which aired in 2013. It premiered on Showtime on November 7, 2021.
Dexter New Blood Season 2 Plot
In the season one finale, “Sins of the Father,” Dexter is apprehended by the police. Angela learns that Kurt murdered Iris, Molly, and the other women who had left messages on her wall.
Dexter is confronted by Harrison after murdering Logan to get to his son, who accuses him of violating his own code of ethics by killing him. Harrison murders Dexter but lets him go after Angela tells him he’ll never be allowed back.
Harrison may travel to Los Angeles in Dexter New Blood season 2 because his father is considering relocating there. If the Dark Passenger begins to stir, he can easily keep it satisfied where he is now.
Audrey may accompany him at some point, and Harrison’s half-siblings may also make an appearance later in the season.

Season 1 of “Dexter: New Blood” stars Jack Alcott, Julia Jones, Clancy Brown (Dexter’s best friend), Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan/Jim Lindsay/Bay Harbor Butcher), Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan), and Jack Alcott (Kurt Caldwell).

Aside from John Lithgow and David Zayas, other cast members include Johnny Sequoyah and Alano Miller (Angel Batista).
Except for Charlotte, all of Paul’s companions died in the second season of The Walking Dead. Harrison’s pain could be channeled through his father in the same way that Dexter’s could be when it became Harry and Deb.
The remaining cast members are expected to return. In addition, as the show progresses, new characters may be introduced to populate the show’s world.
When Does Dexter’s New Blood Season 2 Come Out?
During a press conference held by UBS Global on December 6, 2022, Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish announced that Showtime will focus more on franchises in 2023.
The Paramount boss also revealed that Showtime is no longer capable of standing on its own within the company, which is why the network’s executives were hesitant to say anything when asked about the series’ future plans.
But don’t worry, given the huge success of Dexter New Blood, the most-watched TV show on the SHOWTIME network, Paramount Global (Showtime’s parent company) plans to continue the Dexter franchise. More information will be available soon after the official announcement.
Long story short, the Dexter franchise is still alive and well, and we will hear good news in 2023. A prequel is most likely.
Where is Dexter New Blood Season 2 Streaming?
Season 1 of Dexter New Blood is now available on Showtime, but the second season may or may not be available on the same network.
Because Paramount intends to continue the franchise, the new season will most likely be available on Paramount+.
