After Ever Happy is based on the After book series by Anna Todd, which has sold a lot of copies. Todd’s stories were first posted on Wattpad, a site for sharing stories, where she got a lot of readers.
The storyline of the movie may have changed a little bit here and there, but for the most part, it stays true to the original storyline of the book.
After Ever Happy follows closely on the events of After We Fell. Tessa and Hardin are in London to go to his mom Trish’s (Louise Lombard) wedding with her fiance.
But the night before the wedding, Hardin sees Trish having sexual relations with Christian Vance, who is Tessa’s boss at her publishing company Stephen Moyer.
Vance tells Hardin that he, not Ken Scott, is his real father. Kimberly, Vance’s fiancee (played by Arielle Kebbel), also tells Tessa about this.
Hardin runs out of the hotel bar, shocked and angry, only to be chased by Tessa. Just as the credits start to roll, the two people hug and kiss.
Synopsis of After Ever Happy
Hardin’s impenetrable mask is shattered when he remembers something from the past, and Tessa’s life is turned upside down by a tragedy.
As the two work through their problems, their relationship is getting close to being able to last. As the truth about each of their families comes out, it’s shocking to find out that they’re not so different from each other. Tessa isn’t the sweet, simple, good girl she used to be, and Hardin isn’t the mean, moody boy she used to like.
